Every once in a while I get a huge artistic kick out of something. I don’t know what it was this time – probably just that I’ve been working hard all autumn. This is what came out. It resembles some of my earlier work but I feel I’ve taken the next step. I looked at the eye (see the detail image in the gallery below) and thought to myself: “That’s a real eye.”
If you have ever tried painting or drawing anything, you know the value of these moments – when you have created something you didn’t know you were capable of. It will keep you going better than anything else.
